Equipment and Furnishings
Our daycare has:
⦁ an adequate number of toys, equipment and

furnishings for the licensed capacity. The toys,

equipment and furnishings are age appropriate and

include sufficient numbers for rotation as well as for

gross-motor activity in the playground area

Each infant who receives home child care has a crib, playpen or cradle that complies with the standards under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act and bedding
Infants are placed on their backs to sleep
Cribs and playpens don't have any pillows, bumper pad, sleep positioners or foam padding.
Each child 18 months to 5 years who attends daycare for 6 or more hours a day has a bed or cot and bedding

⦁ Safety gates are in place as needed
⦁ equipment and furnishings are well maintained in

a safe and clean condition and kept in a good state of

repair
⦁ Outdoor play is supervised by the provider
⦁ Poisonous and hazardous materials are inaccessible to

the children
⦁ There are no firearms or ammunition on the property
⦁ Working smoke alarms and carbon dioxide alarms are installed on all levels of the home
⦁ Suitable indoor and outdoor play equipment is available

for the number and developmental needs of the

children enrolled
⦁ A telephone is available to obtain emergency

assistance
⦁ When children are transported, the children

seats and restraint systems are used, that meet the

requirements of the Highway Traffic Act, O.Reg 613

Building and Accommodation
⦁ There is no access to standing or recreational bodies of water
⦁ Our daycare complies with the requirements of the

Smoke-Free Ontario Act

Playground Requirements
⦁ programs operating six or more hours in a day require

space equivalent to 5.6 meters per child, based on

licensed capacity
⦁ the playground is at ground level and adjacent to the

premise
⦁ designed so that staff can maintain constant

supervision
⦁ designed for children under 44 months of age as of
