About our Daycare

  • All adults have a Vulnerable Sector Check

  • Our Daycare has passed a Fire Inspection

  • We have Fire extinguisher(s), smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors

  • We have monthly Fire Drills

  • We have First Aid Kits

  • Dianne has taken her First Aid - CPR C certification

  • Dianne has taken an Epi-Pen training course

  • Dianne has taken courses this year to further her training

  • We have house insurance with $2 million liability

  • There is no smoking, vaping or marijuana use allowed on the property

  • All adults have had at least 3 Covid-19 Vaccinations

  • We have Covid-19 protocols in effect

  • Our dog, Miska has up to date Rabies Vaccinations

  • We have a weekly menu which is based on Canada's Food Guide

  • All dangerous items (ie. medication, knives, etc.) are out of the children's reach and/or kept under lock and key

  • Baby gates, locks and latches are in place where applicable

  • We have Electrical Outlet Covers on all outlets

  • We have a Baby Monitor for the sleep area


I, Dianne, provide child care in my own home, for up to four children, ages newborn to six years of age. 
 

Effective August 31, 2015 the Ontario Government has put into effect the new Child Care and Early Years act 2014. This act states that an unlicensed provider must inform parents that they are unlicensed in writing (either hard copy or electronic).  A provider must keep a disclosure for two years.  The disclosure must say.  "This child care program is not licensed by the Government of Ontario."  

In accordance with the Child Care and Early Years Act 2014, I am informing you that this child care program (Dianne's Home Daycare), was not licensed by the Government of Ontario, from June 1995 to August 2022.

Hours of Service

Our business hours are Monday to Friday  7:50 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We are closed Saturdays and Sundays. 

Vacations

I take my job very seriously.  I realize the inconvenience my absence causes to our Daycare Families.  If I need time off for an appointment or illness, I will notify parents as soon as possible.


Enrolment Records
⦁    Up to date enrolment records for all children in attendance must be on site at all times         and be available to all staff.  These records include: Daycare Record (contract); 

     Immunization Records; Emergency Information; etc.  It is the parents' responsibility to

     see to it that any new information is provided.

  • As of September 2022, all daycare records will be kept for 3 years after a child leaves daycare.

 

Number of Children
⦁    In my care the number of children under 6 receiving care must not exceed 4 children
⦁    At any one time the number of children with special needs must not exceed two
⦁    At any one time the number of children under the age of two must not exceed three

Parents are expected to provide:

  • An extra season appropriate outfit (to be left at daycare)

  • Sun screen (seasonal)

  • Hat and mittens (seasonal)

For infants and young children

  • all bottles, liners, formula or milk required

  • soothers (if child uses one)

  • all diapers, wipes, diaper cream and pull-ups required

  • all food and drink until a child is 18 months old.  

Dismissal Practices
⦁    Staff will only relinquish children to a parent or legal 
guardian unless prior authorization 

     is given by the parent or legal guardian.  Staff may ask for proof of identification (photo

     I.D.) from any individual they don't know.
